The Skilled Migrant Category (SMC) provides a pathway to residency for migrants who are already employed or have a job offer with an accredited employer. SMC uses point-based eligibility – you must score at least 6 points in order to apply. There are currently 3 pathways to earn points in, and migrants can only choose one pathway to apply under.
